Cascade-Free Modulated Predictive Direct Speed Control of PMSM Drives

Conventional predictive control for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) contains dual speed and current loops, has a complex structure multiple parameters to be tuned. direct (PDSC) exhibits an unsatisfactory steady-state performance. To tackle these issues, this paper presents cascade-free modulated PDSC (MPDSC) scheme PMSM drives. First, model is built, where second-order sliding mode observer employed quickly robustly estimate the load torque. Then, objective cost function with stator tracking designed, which improves system’s Furthermore, analytical solution of constrained optimal voltage vector derived it synthesized by space modulation, resulting in fixed switching frequency. Experimental results show that proposed MPDSC stronger robustness, lower torque ripples harmonics compared conventional PDSC.
